November 7 & 8, 2017
Melville Marriott Long Island
Melville, New York, 11747, USA

About the CEWIT2017 Conference:
Co-sponsored by IEEE and Stony Brook University, the CEWIT2017 Conference will continue its tradition of providing the premier international forum for presentations of original research results as well as the exchange and transfer of innovative applications of emerging technologies in infrastructure, healthcare, and energy - three of the most critical components of a smarter global environment. This year’s conference will feature multiple parallel sessions on major vanguard themes including the Internet of Things; Cybersecurity; Big Data Analytics and Visualization; Health Technologies and Medical Devices; Smart Energy; Smart Urban Systems; and Information Technology and Society, with a focus on the concept of the Internet of Everything as a means to drive the intellectual discussion and to explore new capabilities, richer experiences, and unprecedented economic opportunities that exemplify the qualities of a smarter global environment.

The NYSTAR-designated New York State Center of Excellence in Wireless and Information Technology (CEWIT) at Stony Brook University, a next generation research and educational facility, has been organizing this annual international conference since 2003 with a repertoire that has expanded significantly over the years to now encompass technology entrepreneurship and dynamic cross-disciplinary research. Gaining recognition as one of the leading information technology conferences, converging academic research, industry advances and entrepreneurial innovations at a single forum, CEWIT2017 offers a rich networking environment and a unique opportunity to collaborate with a wealth of renowned technical experts, business mentors and aspiring entrepreneurs among a diverse international audience.

Furthermore, a joint effort by CEWIT, MATIMOP, the Israeli Consulate of New York, CEWIT Korea and CEWIT’s community of forward-looking industry partners, the CEWIT2017 Conference will again host an International Business-to-Business (IB2B) component. The CEWIT2017 IB2B provides an organized platform for participating companies to pursue well-crafted business and investment partnerships, enable technology transfer and maximize access to international and regional markets while securing a rich environment for the exchange of innovative ideas and information within the burgeoning entrepreneurial communities of the Long Island and New York regions and those of CEWIT’s partnering international organizations in Israel and Korea.

The CEWIT2017 IB2B component will serve as the second portion, the business function, of the CEWIT Conference’s three-part objective – Technical: to disseminate cutting-edge developments and applications of emerging technologies in infrastructure, healthcare, and energy; Business: cultivate commercialization potential of resulting technologies to drive the local, regional, and global innovation economies; and Social: to enhance industry, academia and government synergy.

The CEWIT2015 program welcomed a 50/50 blend of industry and academia participants across 15 countries, with chief and director level executives accounting for 40% of the audience base. A total of 80 presenters took the podium in 12 breakout sessions, including a parallel entrepreneurship-focused track on the principles of both starting and funding an emerging technology venture. The Conference additionally hosted over 45 high-profile regional and international exhibitors across IT, Engineering, Health, Law, Education, and Media sectors, as well as a 50 company delegation from Israel and Korea in over 150 privately held business-to-business meetings. The CEWIT2017 Conference will continue to build onto the existing program with the incorporation of the Parade of Emerging Technology Companies, a forum to showcase the next generation of the region’s emerging technology startups, and two distinguished c-suite panels that will offer an exclusive look at the strategic perspectives of those on the cutting edge of technology leadership.

With more than 175 participating private and public organizations and over 500 attendees, CEWIT2017 is a destination for researchers, innovators, and entrepreneurs, across borders and disciplines, to exchange ideas, build valuable partnerships and bring cutting-edge technology to the marketplace.
