Synopsis:

Dr. Yalile Suriel, a Stony Brook Alumna and Turner Fellow, received her PhD in History in 2022. Dr. Suriel is now an Assistant Professor in the History Department at the University of Minnesota, where she specializes in the following topics:

• Higher Education History
• Carceral State History
• 20th Century United States
