Assistant Professor of Clinical Medicine
Required Qualifications
M.D. or equivalent. Board Certified/Eligible in Internal medicine, Family Medicine,
Preventive Medicine or Occupational Medicine.
Responsibilities & Requirements
This position will require clinical participation at the World Trade Center Health
Program's clinical sites in Mineola and Commack. Approximately 60% of the work effort
will be devoted to patient care and administrative duties. 40% will be devoted to
clinically related research and education. Administrative duties include general oversight
of various aspects of the World Trade Center Health Program. Clinical and research
activities currently emphasize aero-digestive diseases and the psychological and social
problems that occurred as a result of exposure to the World Trade Center disaster.
Musculoskeletal injuries, asthma, toxin exposure, asbestos and silica exposure related
diseases are also of concern. Participation in clinical programs involving both the
identification and treatment of WTC responder related problems is necessary.
Special Notes
These are non-tenure track positions. FLSA Exempt position, not eligible for the overtime
provisions of the FLSA. Internal and external search to occur simultaneously. Anticipated start date: As soon as possible. *This position is located in Commack, NY. Travel between the
Commack and Mineola sites is required. Occasional Saturdays will be required.
