ENTRANCE EXAM INFO

Parking and Arrival

Please follow these instructions carefully, and make sure you arrive at the correct time for your child's exam (see Exam Times section below).

  • Enter campus from the main entrance off of Nicolls Road. Need directions? Here's how to get to Stony Brook University.
  • Turn onto Shirley Kenny Drive.
  • You can park in the Administration Parking Garage, which is free for visitors to use on weekends.
  • After you park, walk to the Humanities building directly across from the garage. All of the ICPS Entrance Exams will be administered in this building. When you arrive in the building, the students taking the exam will be directed to their rooms.
  • Parents will be asked to go into the Humanities Atrium to listen to the director speak about the various programs available to their children.

Exam Times

All exams will begin promptly at their scheduled start times. Please arrive 30 minutes before your child's exam begins.

5/6 Exam: 10 am to 12 pm

For students currently in grades 4 and 5. Arrive by 9:30.

7/8 Exam: 2 to 4 pm

For students currently in grades 6 and 7. Arrive by 1:30.

9/10 Exam: 2 to 4 pm

For students currently in grades 8 and 9. Arrive by 1:30.

All applicants will be notified of their acceptance status in June. Exam grades will not be shared — only whether or not your child was accepted into the program.
