Guggenheim Fellowship WorkshopStony Brook University is pleased to announce a Guggenheim Fellowship Workshop for those interested in apply for the fellowship. Learn more about the fellowship program, offered by the The John Simon Guggenheim Memorial Foundation, for exceptional individuals in pursuit of scholarship in any field of knowledge and creation in any art form, under the freest possible conditions. There will be a panel discussion with Laura Auricchio, Vice President & Secretary at the John Simon Guggenheim Memorial Foundation, along with previous Guggenheim Fellowship awardees.

The event will take place on Wednesday, April 29, 2026 from 12:00-3:00 PM in the Charles B. Wang Center, Wang Lecture Hall 2, with limited one-on-one consultations to discuss in-progress proposals occurring in the afternoon.

Guggenheim Fellowships are awarded through an annual competition based on open applications. They encourage eligible individuals to apply. The 2027 competition will open for applications in late summer 2026. This event is hosted by the Humanities Institute at Stony Brook, and sponsored by the Office of the Provost and the Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences. The workshop is free and open to the public. Registration for this event is required, with separate RSVP for the limited faculty one-on-one meetings. Seating is limited.
