Major: BS Biology and Psychology
Specialization in Neuroscience
Senior
I am a senior pursuing a dual Bachelor of Science in Biology and Psychology, with a specialization in Neuroscience. I am a member of the National Society of Leadership and Success (NSLS), where I actively work on developing my leadership skills to better support my peers and serve my community. As a pre-med student, I am involved in translational neuroscience research through the Mofakham-Mikell Lab at Stony Brook Medicine, focusing on improving treatment approaches for Parkinson’s disease using gait and motion analysis, deep brain stimulation, and wearable computer-based sensors and technologies. This research will be presented at the URECA Celebration of Undergraduate Research Symposium, the SUNY Undergraduate Research Conference (SURC), and several other neuroscience conferences.
Moreover, I was named to the Fall 2024 Dean’s List and also served as a teaching assistant for BIO 358. In the coming semesters, I plan to become more deeply involved as a research assistant in one of the psychology labs to expand my work in neuroscience from both biological and psychological perspectives. Also, I am an active member of the Pre-Med Society, regularly attending meetings and participating in events to further prepare myself for medical school and a future career in healthcare. Through my leadership, research, and dedication to helping others, I am working toward my goal of becoming a neurosurgeon. I am motivated to help patients recover from severe neurological diseases and to improve patient care through innovation, determination, and hard work.
