Paid Summer Research Experience

With funding by the National Science Foundation Research Experiences for Undergraduates (REU) program, NYIT is recruiting ten undergraduates to conduct research with their faculty in the research area of security of mobile devices and wireless networks for 10 weeks during the summer of 2016 (May 31st – August 5, 2016).

Participants will receive $5000 as a stipend plus lodging, food and travel expense allowances. Applications are due by February 29, 2016.

Research Experience for Undergraduates (REU)

Motivated and talented students are invited to apply for paid summer research internships to gain hands-on research experience in simulating the spread of malware on smartphones, implementing cryptographic algorithms and authentication schemes for smartphones, studying topology control of wireless networks, geolocating smartphones, detecting physical attack on a network of smartphones, and developing privacy-protected medical sensing methods using smartphones. This opportunity is open to only ten students and since the selection process is very competitive students are advised to obtain letters of recommendation from their professors early on.
