Born in South Korea, Ji Hae Yun graduated with both a Bachelor's and a Master’s degree in Piano Performance from Dongduk Women's University. Her Master’s thesis was titled “A Study on R. Following this, she studied with Kim Sing Lee at the Vancouver Academy of Music, completing an Artist Diploma over four years. She also participated in a D.E.P.A. program with Jean Saulnier at the Université de Montréal, Canada.

In 2022, she moved to Florida and began her second Master’s degree at the University of South Florida under Professor Svetozar Ivanov. One of the highlights of her Master’s studies at USF was being a member of the Rebecca Penneys Chamber Collectives, where she expanded her chamber music repertoire.

In the summer of 2023, she traveled to Europe for music festivals. In Northern Ireland, she received the Culture Ireland Award for the best performance of the commissioned Irish piece “Saint Francis” by Elaine Agnew. In Italy, she received the Rutenberg Series Award with her piano trio, which was comprised of participants from the Brancaleoni Music Festival. As a result of this award, her trio was invited to perform as guest artists at the Steinway Piano Series/Rutenberg Chamber Series in Tampa in 2024. Upon graduating from USF, she was honored with the Exemplary Student Award.
