The National Society of Black Physicists (NSBP), Stony Brook Chapter was established in 2022.
Our mission is to increase the representation and support the retention of Black students in physics at Stony Brook University. We are
committed to promoting the social, academic, and professional well-being of Black
physics students. Additionally, our organization aims to increase the visibility of
scientic contributions made by the Blackcommunity, and to cultivate a broader appreciation and understanding of physics within
the Black community at Stony Brook and beyond.
During the academic semesters we host weekly meetings, each centered around a unique topic. We also collaborate with other organizations to host large-scale events. Our organization welcomes Stony Brook students of all backgrounds and majors who support the pursuit of our mission statement.
