We do not require supplemental materials. Although a CV (Curriculum Vitae) is not required, it is recommended. To complete your application, you need to submit three letters of recommendation and all transcripts listed on your application. If English is not your primary language, TOEFL scores are required, as well, for international and domestic applicants.

Yes, all applicants whose native language is not English are required to take the TOEFL. There is no need to submit an English language proficiency test if:

you hold a degree such as a high school diploma, bachelors, masters, or PhD from an institution where the primary instruction was in English
you are a US citizen (or US National)
you served as a Teaching Assistant at an institution where the primary instruction was in English

Applications are accepted from late fall through February 28th. To complete the application, go to the Graduate School SLATE website. The online process is easy and you can fill out the application over several sessions. The application fee of $100 must be paid online with a credit card.

Note that we require separate applications for the Ph.D. and the 1-Year Masters Programs. If you applied to our Ph.D. program and would like to be considered for this one as well, you will need to complete a second application.
